LABOUR MARKET RESEARCH IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA 2020/2021. – LABOUR MARKET AND EDUCATION

The aim of this customized report is to offer useful information to support labour market policy design in the context of understanding the role and importance of education for labour market development.

The research of the labour market by the Employment Service of the Republic
of Srpska began in October 2020, with the preparation of the questionnaire.
In October and November, questionnaires were tested, sampling done, and
regional coordinators and interviewers trained to conduct the survey. Data
were collected from 1 to 31 December 2020.
The sampling method used in this study is the stratified sampling approach,
with the key stratification variables being sector (KD2010 activity classification)
and company size. A total of 978 responses were collected from employers
in Republika Srpska.

Out of the total number of new employees (3,130), the following 25 occupations
are particularly in demand (they make up 70.8% of the newly employed
workers in 2021): auxiliary worker in production, salesman-trader,
delivery worker, simple worker, telephone operator – call center operator,
truck driver, mechanical technician, freight vehicle driver, warehouse worker
and commercialist, locksmith, economist; waiter; wood sanding and polishing
machine operator; bus driver; carpentry fitter; administrative worker;
carpenter; builder; tailor; cook; programmer; electrician; construction technician;
lawyer.
